Road test, whenever possible
Some concerns only appear while driving.
When a road test is possible and appropriate, Sjon evaluates the vehicle in motion and pays attention to conditions that may not show up while it is parked.
The test may include cold-start behavior when available, idle quality, engine performance, transmission operation and shift quality, steering feel, braking, vibration, suspension noises, drivability, and warning lights or abnormal behavior that appears at speed, under load, during braking, or as the vehicle reaches operating temperature.
Road-test availability depends on access, safety, and the vehicle’s condition.
Comprehensive adds an underbody review
When the vehicle and inspection location allow it to be raised safely, the Comprehensive option adds a closer look at accessible suspension and steering wear, looseness or play in joints, underbody leaks, drivetrain condition, visible structural concerns, and repair work that may be difficult to spot from ground level.
This is the key physical-scope difference between the two options.
